TEACHERS

Your child will be surrounded by a dedicated and caring staff of teachers with more than 50 years of combined teaching experience.  


Beth Durant (Program Director/Teacher)
Beth has a BA in History from Carleton College. She has 144 credit hours of Early Childhood coursework from Cardinal Stritch University (most of them at the graduate level). She had 3 years teaching experience prior to joining CPS and has taught at CPS since 1994.  Her two daughters attended CPS.


Elsie Carroll (Teacher)
Elsie has a BA in Psychology from Marquette University and 72 credit hours toward a Masters in Education Psychology. She had 2 years teaching experience prior to joining CPS and has taught at CPS since 1997. Three of her four children attended CPS.

Teresa Freding (Teacher)
Teresa received a certification in Orthopedic Services from Ball State University and has accumulated over 40 credits toward an Elementary Education degree from UW Milwaukee.  Teresa is certified in Early Childhood Education I and II. She had 10 years of experience with preschool education of three- to six-year olds prior to joining CPS and has taught at CPS since 2002.  She has five children and the youngest attended CPS.

Peggy Murphy (Teacher)
Peggy graduated from St. Norbert College with a BA in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. She has taken graduate level classes at Cardinal Stritch University in Early Childhood Special Education. Peggy taught kindergarten for eight years and prior to joining CPS in 1997. Peggy’s three children attended CPS.


Margaret Schmitt (Teacher)
Margaret is certified in Early Childhood Education I and II. She had 6 years of teaching experience prior to joining CPS in 1997. Margaret taught a variety of preschool classes at the Schroeder YMCA, and she started their three-day preschool program. Margaret has 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
